Service Changes + Closures
The available sexual health service has been reduced due to the impact of coronavirus and will only be able to see priority patients. Priority patients are those with a diagnosed STI that requires treatment, those with symptoms of an STI, individuals requiring HIV pre and post exposure prophylaxis and individuals post sexual assault.
If you feel you need to be seen please contact 01382 425542 (9-5pm) to speak to a triage nurse. The young person's drop in clinic at Drumhar Health Centre (Perth), Men Only Tayside (MOT) clinics at all sites and online booking have also been temporarily closed. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your help in ensuring we can continue to run services safely.
If you believe you have coronavirus (COVID-19) or you have persistent cough or fever then you should self isolate for 14 days. For further information you can contact NHS Inform here
Accessing HIV Home Testing Kits
You can order a HIV test online from THT Scotland or HIV Test Scotland (a partnership between Waverley Care and HIV Scotland). These schemes both offer free, home testing kits. HIV self testing is fast and totally confidential. You do it yourself and see the result in just a few minutes. Both services have additional support available around testing.
Living with HIV
People living with HIV and other blood borne viruses can now access emergency support through THT Scotland's new COVID-19 service. The service can help if you have concerns around:
- Delivery of HIV ART and other essential medication
- Access to adequate food supplies
- Assistance with fuel poverty
- Support with digital and telecommunications access
- Enhanced one to one emotional and mental health support
- Expert financial and welfare advice
- Connection to peer support and other wellbeing services
Our local health promotion worker is also available to provide support with ways to improve your sexual health, hate crime reporting, coming out, homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, low-self esteem, support around a diagnosis and telling people about your HIV status and much more.
If you are concerned and would like to talk to someone please contact our Tayside Health Promotion Specialist:
Apologies for any inconvenience and we appreciate your support with these changes to our services.
